Sorry to everyone that has joined the LS for the lack of updates.

Friends have quit/ain't coming back to the game and I can't seem to find motivation to play this game anymore. The new content is rather boring, Rieves, whatever it's called is rather tedious and I think people are quitting in general - going by the lack of normal stuff shouts and yells.

Recruiting has been difficult too, SE's official LS thing is not working either so I can't get a Guildworks up (not sure if that even helps).

/sigh all around.

Got rid of forum section. Hate the sign-in options crap.

Using 'walls', hopefully this works out better.

Password to enable members to use it will be noted on the /lsmes

The forums section is buggy, kinda sucks, apologies if your posts get deleted!

Sorry!

FFXI Linkshell Community is under maintenance, therefore I am unable to register the Linkshell on it, which in turn means I can't create a Guildwork account.

Sorry, but you will have to bear with me and just use this Weebly site for the moment. I know it's not great, doesn't provide the same functionality that Guildwork provides.

I am in the middle of spreading word on various forums. I hope I ge

'Seekers of Adoulin' has launched, it's live, new areas, new quests, new missions, new gear, and new jobs. Took me 3 hours to download the update. The purchasing of the expansion was a pain in the buttocks, but I got there in the end.

Hopefully this expansion means the return of players that quit due to whatever reasons, boredom, real life issues, etc. Which brings me onto why I created EastWest linkshell.

I started playing this game during the EU launch (whenever that was), I am from the UK, born there, lived there 20 plus years, come 2007, I moved to Hong Kong (China) to work. Real life was great, I experienced new things, work was giving me new challenges, I was meeting new people, eating great food, etc.

However playing FFXI was becoming more difficult for me due to my change in time zone, I was no longer able to do things with the UK/EU lot, I didn't fit into the Japanese crowd due to language barrier, and playing with the U.S crowd meant staying up till 6am which really was and still is not possible for me. I've moved servers like 3 to 4 times, from Fenrir to Shiva to Cerberus to now Ragnarok (so that's 4 times) in hope that I would find like minded people, people who I could communicate with, do stuff - whether is was missions, quests, farming etc. and to just have fun and banter with. It was not easy, hence the moving of servers 4 times. It's still not easy! Believe me!

This is hopefully my last server, I don't want to pay SE any more bucks to switch servers. Maybe it's time for me to stop playing the game and move onto other things. Then again I've quit for long periods of time, only to come back. FFXI really is like a drug, maybe I should just hit the delete button, cut up the credit card, uninstall Windows and install Ubuntu.

I don't know - FFXI was my first MMORPG, I have a soft spot for it, but it's changed, the mechanics have changed, people have changed, leveling is easy peasy lemon squeezy, no more partying. I also feel players now are kind of more selfish, maybe that was always the case, I dunno. I am still playing because I do enjoy certain aspects, FFXIV ain't no where near finished and I need something to do to take my mind off work/real life and FFXI gives me that lil fix.

Anyway, I am waffling.

If you see this, if you see my in-game recruiting yells and feel pity for me, feel like you're in the same shoes as me, feel EastWest could be a good permanent or temporary in-game home, send me a /tell.

Now back to yelling and leveling Rune Fencer & Happy Easter!

Ribena, yup, that's me! Why Ribena?! Why?! Why didn't I change it? Why?!

    About Me

My in-game character is Ribena. It wasn't originally, it was Shiryu when I was on the Remora server. Why on Earth did I name myself Ribena I don't know, I must have been drunk, drugged or crazy.

Why I didn't change it when I moved to Ragnarok server also baffles me.

The creator of EastWest Linkshell. I don't like to be referred to as 'Leader' because frankly what is a leader of a linkshell suppose to do nowadays?
